Legendary B&W's on Display at Ryerson

After hearing much, over the past while, about the legendary photography collection given to the Ryerson U community, I've been eager to have a peek. There hasn't really been an opportunity to, of course, as you can't just walk in and ask to have a flip through some of the most famous photos around.

That's all changed as Rye has opened a new gallery to house (and exhibit) the Mira Godard Study Centre Collection and the new Black Star Collection. Now through December 2nd they will be showing some of the 300,000 black and white photographs that are part of the Black Star Collection.

Images aren't being presented in the usual framed sense though.

Digital versions of key shots are being shown via projection and computers are set up to allow visitors a chance to have a look at digital images "interactively" -- much better as you can choose what to see and the actually resolution does the photos more justice than even a good projection could.

The Image Arts Gallery is on campus at 122 Bond Street, 3rd Floor.
Hours are Monday - Saturday, 12am - 5pm.

For more info visit the Collection website.
