To continue my series on ways to start off your New Year's Resolutions right, I would like to draw your attention to the Toronto Salsa Practice, or TSP.

TSP came into being 5 years ago as a means for salsa dance students to get together and practice the moves they learned in class. Held at Trinity St. Paul's Church on Bloor near Spadina, there are no lessons, no smoke, no guys on the make and, most importantly, no pressure. You don't need a partner, though more leaders would be MOST welcome!

I have been going to TSP off and on for about 3 years to keep my salsa up to speed -- my swing is much best than my salsa admittedly. Attendees from beginners to semi-professionals come from salsa schools from all over Toronto so you get an idea of what different teachers are teaching.

But best of all it's CHEAP: running every Saturday admission to the Afternoon Practice [3:30 to 5:30 p.m.] is $3.50 per person, the Evening Practice [5:30 to 7:30 p.m.] is $2.50, and to the Night Practice [7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. ] is $2.50.

FYI - mark Saturday January 14th in your dancing calendars. TSP will be celebrating its 5th anniversary. There will be just one practice, six hours long - from 3:30 to 9:30 p.m. Admission will be $2.50, no matter what time you get there.
