This week Harbourfront Centre is a bibliophile's place to be.

Tomorrow (Tuesday), Gay Talese (who used to write for the New York Times back in the day and wrote Frank Sinatra has a Cold for Esquire, which is apparently a landmark in "literary journalism") is discussing his newest book A Writer's Life. (7:30pm).

Wednesday, McClelland and Stewart authors Maureen Jennings, JosĂŠ Latour and Peter Robinson (crime novel writers, all) are reading from their latest - Vices of My Blood (set in TO), Havana Best Friends, and Piece of My Heart as part of the International Readings series. (7:30pm).

This coming Sunday, the Toronto Poetry Slam hits at El Mocambo (second floor). The event is also the first round for determining the TO team for the Canadian Festival of Spoken Word in October. (poet sign-up at 8:30, event begins at 9pm, 5$).
