Gallery Space: Urban Images

This week in Gallery Space --

Contact keeps on going with Sure Sign, photography by Joan Kaufman. See Joan's large format B&W images at the opening Reception this Saturday, May 27th from 2-5pm @ the Redhead Gallery. The exhibit will run until June 17th.

Hear the stories of Yonge Street's past, learn about the lives of urban pigeons, and see text messages translated into Morse Code. What? Yep. The Networked City launches today. Part of the Humanitas festival, the Networked City is 5 outdoor installations by Canadian artists that "highlight the social connections that citizens make on a day-to-day basis by simply travelling from one place to another."

f*stop and check it out, a show featuring various projects from the students of OCAD's Photography Thesis class, ends this weekend (the 28th) at X-Space (303 Augusta Av).

And finally, Public 32 (York U) presents Urban Interventions this coming Wednesday, May 31st at 8pm. I have scarcely little info on this show aside from the photo featured above and the indication that there will be photographs as well as installations. Still it seems worth a look - at Magpie (831 Dundas West)
