This Tuesday the 26th, TINARS brings journalist and filmmaker Bruce Yaccato to the Gladstone to launch his new book Canadian Screen Legends, about the Canucks who "helped build the Hollywood we know today." The event includes a panel of film critics and a night of film trivia. 7-10p, free.

Wednesday the 27th, the Harbourfront Centre and Nicholas Hoare present the latest installment of the Travellers' Series. Marcello Di Cintio reads from his Poets and Pahlevans: A Journey into the Heart of Iran, Brian Payton from Shadow of the Bear: Travels in Vanishing Wilderness, Jason Roberts from A Sense of the World: How a Blind Man Because History's Traveler, and Robert Twigger from his Voyageur. 7:30p, Brigantine Room, (235 Queen's Quay W).

Thursday, the Toronto Womens Bookstore presents a booklaunch for Sons of the Movement: FtMs Risking Incoherence on a Post-Queer Cultural Landscape from Jean Bobby Noble. 7p. Food and bev. (73 Harbord).

Friday, Descant hosts their 3rd annual fundraiser Book Ball: Cuba Libro in conjunction with the new Cuban Themed issue. Live music, cuban nosh and cocktails (the 'cuba libro' title is a play on the classic Cuba Libra - rum and coke for those of us up north), for a mere 60$ (buy 'em here or call 416.593.2557) - and of course there's a silent and live auction. 7p at Sorauren Studio.
