Win Consolation

Hello and welcome to the inaugural hump-day book giveaway.

This week, we're giving one blogTO reader a copy of Michael Redhill's new novel Consolation.

Consolation, featuring our fair city in the present and 150 years ago, spins a story about a professor's widow, an immigrant TO-er who photographs the bleak urban landscape circa 1850 whose life the widow's husband had been uncovering, and her pursuit (with the aid of her husband's erstwhile assistant, a bookkeeper and wouldbe playwrite) of the rest of the story.

Mystery, scandal, a portrait of the city, then and now, and the promise of vindication. Provocative, no?

The first person to email me (not add a comment) the correct answer to the following question wins:

For which Canadian literary magazine does Michael Redhill act as (an) editor?

If you guys like this, I'll bring ya more.

Let me know if there are any local books and authors you have a particular interest in - have you already read Consolation? What do you think of it?

Check back for reviews of fall releases and coverage of the upcoming IFOA.
