Humpday Giveaway - Portable Altamont
This week we bring you Portable Altamont.
a little flava flav':
Ally Sheedy
Dear Michael Edwards,
I very much want to apologize for the events that occurred late in the evening of March 11, 1994. You were on purple microdot and I took advantage of your altered state by reading alound from Ally Sheedy's collection of poetry, Yesterday I Saw the Sun.
I apologize for claiming that these poems were the last known writings of Friedrich Nietzsche. My only excuse is that I was eighteen and I can only hope you've gotten on with your life.
Excerpted from Portable Altamont, by Brian Joseph Davis (Coach House Books, 2005)
And the burning question of the day - which magazine selected Portable Altamont as their 'Poetry Book of the Issue'?
