Things I Have to Squeeze in This Weekend...

but won't cause I'm sick as a dog.

Tonight I was supposed to whole heartingly embrace prototypes of the simulacrum at The Canadian Film Centre's Habitat New Media Lab's 2006 HYBRID MEDIA Exhibition. From virtual jukebox access through your cell-phone, to tiny street gallery display PacuBoxes, they have it all for the tech-junkie. Open to the public this Saturday and Sunday, 11-7 pm and October 18-20 5-10 pm at the Gladstone Hotel , 2ND Floor - 1214 Queen Street West. Free.

I was also going to try to be there early to also catch Hand-Face-Body, a juried textile-based exhibition, which runs until November 26, 12-5 pm daily, on the 3/ 4 floor public spaces of the Gladstone Hotel, 1214 Queen St W. I'll have to squeeze it in when I'm better.

On Saturday, 2-5 pm, Nicole Collins will be present for the reception of her exhibition, Stroke for Stroke at the Wynick/Tuck Gallery, 401 Richmond Street West, Ground Floor Suite 128. For this show, Collins has created 16 original paintings that are alike in execution and palette, yet due to the butterfly effect they are each unique explorations of the encaustic medium. She has even documented the painstaking process here. Runs Tues-Sat 11-5 until November 11.
