Keep E.T. from Phoning Your Home

It's a widely known fact that tin foil hats foil the brain scanning tactics of extra-terrestrials.

Didja catch the pun? It was especially clever because I used the same word, twice. Ha!

Anywho, Cynthia Gould of "Bridesmania" and "Kindergarten for Adults" is hosting the Third Annual Tinfoil Hat Contest is happening this Saturday, March 3rd, at The Renaissance Cafe on Danforth. The gist is that you have between 7:30-10pm to make the ultimate tin foil hat. A hat, in this case, is anything that sits on one's head. Judges Susan Bustnos and Brent Morris encourage bribery and strutting, in that order.

Details after the jump.

After the contest Tomboyfriend will be playing their androgynous / promiscuous / bisexualnous / cheerleadernous / wealthynous / Jeffrey Sachsnous tunes to the delight of all. They'll of course be dodging alien brain scans by wearing their chrome dome covers during the set as well.
