Coinciding nicely with the Comic Book Expo ongoing this weekend, the Annex's art n' graphic novels specialty shop, The Labyrinth (my original profile of the store is here), is bringing three renowned American artists into the store for a fan meet-and-greet.

It's a great opportunity for a little face time without playing the $25-40 cover charges that go into the fan expo. Plus, it's unlikely that you'll be accosted by any 250-pound men dressed as Green Lantern. (Although anything is, I suppose, possible.)

Alberto Ruiz is an illustrator from New York, and author of Process Junkie, an instructional book on creating art in Adobe Illustrator.

Joe Weatherly, based out of California, is a life drawing instructor who has left his mark on artists from Pixar and Disney. His new book, The Art of Joe Weatherly, demonstrates his impressive animal drawing expertise.

David Colman is a second animal drawing expert, also from California. His book, The Art of Animal Character Design, is another gorgeous tome on the creation of animal imagery in art.

All three artists will be at The Labyrinth tonight, from 7:30 - 9:00. The store is located at 386 Bloor Street West, in the space formerly occupied by Second Spin. More information about the show can be found at the store's blog.
