This Saturday September 15th, the monthly Box Salon resurfaces atop the Wrigley Building in Leslieville. The roof top party will feature words, performance, humour, music by Claire Jenkins, Jess Dobkin, Karl Mohr, Mike Hoolboom, Motion, Leanda Quinquet, Josh Thorpe, Tomboyfriend, Sex City Sluts and Steve Venright. There will be food, drink, djs, not to mention an unforgettable view.

Earlier today I touched base with the crew at Box Salon to find a little bit more about the event.

What is The Box?

The Box is a quarterly salon night of readings, performances, screenings, interventions and networking that aims to bring diverse communities and audiences into an environment of artistic and social intermingling.

Your next event is this Saturday atop the Wrigley Building. What can people expect if they show up?

There will be a mixture of words, performance, music. Eclectic, dynamic, surprising.

How'd you manage to secure the event space at the top of the Wrigley Building?

The owner of the Wrigley Building Vincent Tangredi is a friend who asked me to put something of the box together there and I thought this would be interesting. The Box has openness to many cultural fields, wishing to see how those from different communities come together. The Wrigley Building happens to be unusual, one of the few older industrial spaces that has not been converted in to condos. It's an interesting and mixed structure.
