Contest: Win Tickets to The Canadian Opera Company's War and Peace
The Canadian Opera Company's new season is underway and here's your chance to experience Prokofiev's masterpiece, War and Peace.
We're giving away a pair of tickets to the October 14th performance of this monumental co-production with the English National Opera, the single largest opera the COC has ever produced. Read on for your chance to experience Tolstoy's epic novel brought to life.
The Canadian Opera Company has orchestrated a wonderful program this season, and War and Peace promises to continue in the tradition of bringing bigger and better experiences to the Four Seasons stage.
In addition to the show, the COC offers Pre-performance Chats prior to each show, free with your ticket. These 20 minute discussions present entertaining information about the opera from members of the COC Volunteer Speakers Bureau. Opera 101 sessions at the Drake Hotel are another free initiative to introduce the under-30 crowd to opera in a fun, relaxed atmosphere; these events are also attended by members of the productions.
The real excitement for those under-30 is the new Opera for a New Age ticket pricing. Starting Saturday September 27th, anyone under 30 can purchase these special fall season tickets for only $20.
However, you can WIN your own pair of tickets from blogTO right now! We have a pair of tickets to the October 14th performance of War and Peace (7pm) at the Four Seasons Centre for the Performing Arts for one lucky reader.
To win: Post a comment below with the name of the famous Canadian baritone making his debut in the COC production of War and Peace. The first correct answer (with a valid email address) wins - good luck!
