99 Cents Exhibit Preview
Tonight is the launch of our 99 Cents photography exhibit at Show and Tell gallery. We were at the gallery most of the day yesterday hanging the photos, wall graphics and otherwise getting the show ready. The reception is tonight (7pm - midnight) so be sure to RSVP here if you think you might come by.
Aside from the usual refreshments, we'll be featuring free custom mini cupcakes from The Designer Cookie (our review here) and music from DJs Professor Fingers and ex-blogTO music writer Gary Peter of These Electric Lives.
If you can't make it tonight the exhibit will still be up until Sunday May 16th. Featured are 10 photos from our recent 99 Cents photo competition including the top 5 vote getters and 5 additional photos selected by our jury.
Participating photographers include Kathryn Bailey, Dimitrijs Belokons, Tanja-Tiziana Burdi, Mauricio Calero, Sandra Chow, Rebecca Lo, Ryan Louis, Lisa Marziali, Nikin Nagewadia and Michael Thompson.
A special thanks to Sony make.believe for making the exhibit possible. We'll be giving away a Sony DSC W310 Cybershot camera as a door prize.
We also want to thank Posterjack.ca who printed and framed all the prints you'll see at the exhibit. Thanks to them, we were able to print the photos 24x36" inches each so they're nice and large. The amazing thing is they offer this service all the time and it costs only $17.99. They even created a discount code (blogTO) that can be used to get an additional 15% off any online orders.
Here's a look inside Posterjack.ca headquarters at Carlaw and Dundas East.
We'll be selling all the framed prints at the exhibit for a super affordable price of $99.99 with all proceeds going to charities selected by the participating photographers. Unframed (rolled) prints will also be available for $49.99.
Various blogTO team-members will be on site tonight during the exhibit so be sure to chat with the bartender to ask who they are as you'll hopefully recognize their name from the site.
Reminder: RVSP to the opening reception here if you think you might come by tonight.
