Yesterday I wrote Alex Beker's quirky photo-based project, "Things I Saw Today." At the bottom of that post, I put out a call to other artists working on Toronto-based projects with the hopes that I might be able to share some of the cool stuff that they're up to as well.

In response to this, I received an email earlier this evening from blogTO reader Tyler Freedman, who recently put together a cool time lapse video of an early morning trip from one end of the Yonge-University-Spadina subway line to the other.

"I filmed this Monday morning, while the rest of the city was busy sleeping in. I figure it might help brighten someone's commute, or otherwise show how the TTC can actually be rather interesting," Tyler explained in the note.

How did he get the camera positioned to capture the ride? A sympathetic train operator let him "tape a cardboard box with a camera in it to the emergency exit."

Clever, indeed. And, with the elimination of the passenger front window on the new subway cars unveiled today, this type of project wil eventually be impossible, so it's nice to have this record for posterity.
