Crow's Theatre announced its 40th anniversary season with some amazing deals.

The contemporary theatre company in Leslieville just debuted the schedule for its 12-play season.

It includes the Canadian premieres of Broadway hit Natasha, Pierre & The Great Comet of 1812 by Dave Malloy, as well as the cutting-edge true-story drama DANA H. by Lucas Hnath. 

The season begins with The Master Plan, adapted from the book Sideways: The City Google Couldn’t Buy by the Globe and Mail journalist Josh O'Kane. It documents the messy affair between Sidewalk Labs and Waterfront Toronto as they attempt to build a smart city in Toronto.

Theatre tickets are affordable

You can get six shows for $85 with the student and under 30 pass.  Individual tickets for youth also start at $20 a pop. 

The Under 30 ticket program aims to ease barriers to access of going to the theatre and support the long-term health of the performing arts community, inviting young people to be part of the audience in its dual stage performance spaces, Streetcar Crowsnest. 

For 2023/2024, Crow's will premiere new works from Michael Healey, Cliff Cardinal, Mohammad Yaghoubi, and bahia watson. This season they collaborate with Tapestry Opera and Théâtre français de Toronto. 

Next April, Crow's produces shaniqua in abstraction by performer and playwright bahia watson, in association with Obsidian Theatre Company and paul watson productions. 

The one-woman show is described as "a kaleidoscopic explosion of experiences and shifting identities that defiantly push back the boundaries defining Black womanhood."
