The best part is, you can get a five-inch layered birthday cake and other items delivered from here through their online shop or Doordash, provided 48-hours' notice.

Aside from many signature options, Velvet Lane specializes in custom cakes, occasional cakes, wedding cakes, corporate gifting and catering.

Birthday cakes come in options like vanilla funfetti, their signature vanilla sponge thickly laden with buttercream frosting in cute colours, crowned by the perfect sparkly cake topper.

Cupcakes ($3.50) are a great way to test out cake flavours before committing to a full custom job, indulge in a sweet treat, or quickly pick up a dessert. 

Four to five flavours that change up every day include double chocolate, double vanilla, and vanilla sponge with a sweetly toasty hazelnut buttercream.

Cake bars ($4) dip sponge into chocolate and add a little decoration, resulting in a typical sweet-on-sweet but very cute pop.

Cookies ($2) are more crispy than chewy, in varieties like chocolate chip oatmeal or a vegan banana oatmeal variety made with coconut oil. They usually try to have one gluten-free option as well.

Next-day signature cakes that require 24-hours' notice to prepare range from five-inch chocolate drip cakes serving 10 for $65 up to eight-inch vanilla funfetti unicorn cakes serving 20 for $165. This includes vanilla cakes in the shape of any numbers that serve 30 ($150).

Though the majority of the business is custom cakes with wild designs, this place offers cupcakes, cakebars, macarons, decorated cookies, cakepops, choux pastry, and wedding tasting boxes. 

Absolutely everything is baked right in the store using high-quality ingredients, and you can also take lessons in foundational and decorating skills here.
