Axis Club
Axis Club is a music venue where you can catch a live performance or go to a themed dance party.
Formerly known as the Mod Club, this completely renovated venue includes a state-of-the-art sound system, lighting system, and multiple 4k cameras so they can also stream their shows online.
For those who remember the layout of The Mod Club, the most notable update might be the removal of the viewing platform. It's no longer here, giving the venue more space to dance in.
The bar itself hasn't changed much but there now might be bar stools to sit on depending on the event.
The VIP viewing area is upstairs where there's ample room to view the stage with seats and tables available on a first come first serve basis.
This is undoubtedly the best area in the venue to see a show. There's ample room and its vantage point gives you get an aerial view of the stage and dance floor.
There's also a bar upstairs so no need to go down to grab a drink or two.
Inside, Axis Room is filled with murals portraying artists including Ariana Grande, Jimi Hendrix, Drake and The Weekend.
When not hosting live concerts, Axis Club has themed dance parties which is a good thing since the Mod Club was known for epic-themed dance parties that would go on all night.
I remember the boy band-themed dance parties and a Taylor Swift-themed one where I danced and screamed my heart out.
Unlike other popular venues like Rebel or The Danforth Music Hall, Axis Club is a smaller venue with a capacity of only 618.
The size of the venue makes concerts seem more intimate. Even when you're standing at the back of the venue, it still seems like you're so close to the stage.
