Shane Koyczan vs. the World! The slam champ faces off against five Toronto poets in a different kind of poetry slam event: winner takes home half the night's door cover. Hosted by Dave "BigDeal" Silverberg.

Toronto Women's Bookstore presents Connecting Communities: Desh & Diaspora an exciting and thought-provoking evening of readings , performance and discussion exploring issues of South-Asianness. The Writers' Trust of Canada's Writers' Workshop Program presents a workshop on "How to BE an Author (Publishing Contract Not Included)". Author, freelance journalist, teacher and abstract photographer Matt Beam tells his story, shares his knowledge and questions your assumptions about the writing life.
