Envision Toronto
Ahmed El-Khuffash's "Envision Toronto" project may not be the first of its kind, but it is certainly going to be a fun project once word of it spreads to Toronto Photobloggers.
Envision Toronto is a Google-maps powered applet that allows anyone to login, and add their photos of the T-dot to the E.T. map. Bit by bit, the result is a crowded wonderland of personal perspectives of our city. Already you can see landmarks like City Hall, classics like the Secret Swing, or minute details like a pedestrian crossing button at College & Spadina.
Wondering why he decided to start this up, I click through to his "About" page. There El-Khuffash writes,"Why am I doing this? I have to! I'm a 4th year New Media at Ryerson University, and as part of our 4th year we have to do a big thesis project of our choice. Of course, since I chose to do this, I also like the idea."
Cute. It's mutual.
