Toronto Media Embracing Tech Trends

Cablecaster Magazine is reporting that CityTV will soon hop on the vodcasting bandwagon. Subscribers will be able to have the daily news downloaded and automatically transferred to their iPods letting them watch it on the go.

The Toronto Star will also be adding new video features to their website, although it is still unknown whether they'll make use of the popular podcasting infastructure. In a recent visit to their HQ at 1 Yonge, The Star's photo editor Ken Faught made it very clear to me that the future of The Star online relies heavily on rich multimedia. He's even demanding that all photographers begin recording audio at the very least, and sometimes even video in addition to -- you know -- taking photos.

I'm glad to see big Toronto media embracing new technological trends, and giving their users more ways to enjoy their content. The Toronto Star already has one podcast, four blogs, and a number of RSS feeds for users to choose from. CityTV plans to start the casting Monday, March 20th which will be available from the pulse24 website .
