The combined efforts of Mayor David Miller, The Ontario Labour Relations Board (OLRB), and TTC Management have resulted in an end to the union-initiated TTC shutdown.

At a 3pm press conference, Miller publicly demonstrated his disappointment with the union calling their strike "illegal from the start" and "absolutely unacceptable". He also expressed his gratitude for the efforts of the OLRB (which issued a second order to the union, citing the job action as illegal) and TTC Management in resolving the issue.

As of 4:30pm, some buses and streetcars have started to roll out onto the streets and resume service, but the subways have yet to re-open. According to the TTC website, full citywide service is expected to return by 6am tomorrow morning.

Update (5:45pm):
- Surface routes (buses and streetcars) are continuing to have services restored throughout the city.
- The Bloor-Danforth subway line is expected to open at around 6pm.
- The TTC have not yet reported an estimated time for the re-opening of the Yonge/University-Spadina subway line.
- WheelTrans is operating on a priority basis and is asking that appointments only be made if absolutely necessary.
