Morning Brew: June 14, 2006
Your morning news roundup for Wednesday, June 14, 2006:
Street artists finally get their due and get paid to decorate utility boxes in the city, so why does Council insist on painting over street art downtown?
CityTV's Peter Silverman gets named Man of the Year, and I'm quite happy about it, because really, Silverman Helps.
Oil prices drop, meaning drivers pay less for gas, but the TSX drops by 293 points. Really, it's all just a matter of perspective.
Caribana goes through politicking and a name change, when really, all we want to do is go outside and party to some soca music.
The police are warning the public about a neck-licking stranger, which is even weirder than that phase my best friend went through in middle school where he was convinced he was Dracula. Necks beware.
On a more somber note, the arrests of eight men connected with the Jane Creba murder proves that nobody is safe from gang warfare. Instead of the government targeting guns, how about targeting the people that use them?
