In Photos: AIDS 2006: The Media

An astounding 3000 journalists, interpreters, and broadcasters from all corners of the world attended and covered the numerous events and sessions at the 2006 AIDS conference. Host broadcaster CBC, as well as a slew of other International heavy-hitters like CNN, Reuters, etc. were all set up in the media and broadcast centers - beaming the crucial information and coverage to the world.

Computer terminals, press conference rooms, cameras, wires, microphones, tables piled high with press releases and literature, and empty coffee cups were everywhere as deadlines were met and much sleep was sacrificed.

More photographs of the media covering the conference can be seen in the slideshow that follows.

The AIDS 2006 Conference ended today, with the closing session and keynote address by Toronto's own Stephen Lewis. Watch it online at Kaiser Network.

Throughout the last few weeks, blogTO has published a number of articles and made a number of AIDS 2006-related event announcements. I hope that our readers have found our efforts worthwhile, and our articles useful. Please Stay tuned for a final wrapup of my experiences at the AIDS 2006 Conference, coming soon.
