Trade In Those Power Hungry Holiday Lights

All over town, neighbourhoods are setting up their holiday lights, throwing parties, and preparing for the holiday season. As mentioned in the previous post, Corso Italia is even having another soccer party for their holiday cavalcade of lights.

Yet with all these lights going up across town, the energy consumed by them is lower than ever before. Most, if not all, neighbourhoods have now switched to LED light systems that use 90% less power.

Which brings me to the point here: Another key feature of all these celebrations is that each community BIA has teamed up with Toronto Hydro to sponsor holiday light trade-ins.

Bring in up to 2 old power hungry light strings and receive 2 new strings of LED lights in exchange. Here's a full list of trade-in locations, starting tonight:

- Friday, November 17

- Corso Italia (St. Nicola Di Bari Church - 1277 St. Clair W): Exchange from 6-9 p.m.

- Old Cabbagetown (Javaville at Parliament and Carlton): Exchange from 6-9 p.m.

- St. Clair Gardens (St. Clair Avenue West at the CN overpass): Exchange from 6-8 p.m.
