Wrath of Khan?

I'm running out of clever ways to headline this story, but it just keeps growing uglier. Late yesterday, newly independent MP Garth Turner alleged on his blog that the Conservatives help "pave the way" for Khan to join the party by awarding his then-Tory competitor for the riding seat an immigration judge position.

This insured that Raminder Gill, a "a former Ontario MPP, engineer, U of T faculty member, inventor and three-time federal candidate, [and] an experienced and popular politician", wouldn't be in the spot come a new election. The National Post is also running with this story.

As Garth says "Damn, but some things work out conveniently."
