Morning Brew: February 7th, 2007
Your morning news roundup for Wednesday February 7th, 2007:
Members of Toronto City Council looked like a bunch of spoiled brats (and the photographer packed up without shooting) after they couldn't agree on the seating arrangement for their group photo. How are they supposed to run a city when they can't even decide who gets to sit in the front row for a friendly press opportunity?
The stowaway skunk that turned up homeless in Toronto (and is better behaved than our city councilors) has made her way back over the US border and is expected to be back amongst her own in the wilds of California on Friday.
Police are issuing a safety alert after multiple reports have surfaced detailing a man and woman in the Dufferin & Lawrence area attempting to lure children into a van. The couple has approached children asking for directions and offering McDonalds coupons.
A jewelry heist of Hollywood proportions happened in Toronto, and the thieves made away with a cool $5million worth of diamonds. After disabling the phone and security systems, the bandits entered the building and opened two safes before vanishing without a trace. Someone might be one happy Valentine next week.
