Morning Brew: March 21st, 2007
Your morning news roundup for Wednesday March 21st, 2007:
Images of a purse-snatcher who broke an elderly woman's ribs in Parkdale were caught on video, and police are now hoping the public can help to identify and apprehend the punk.
Etobicoke councillors Holyday and Ford, and York councillor Mammoliti are slinging mud at each other via the press. The Etobicoke rebels are refusing to pay their overdue city office space rent and Mammoliti is calling them on it.
Durham region public school support staff are on strike. Classes are on, but the absence of clerical staff, technical staff, and custodians will surely be felt (especially after the next food fight in the cafeteria).
Results are in from the recent CBC Test the Nation show. Apparently drinking wine and eating animal proteins makes you smarter, having black hair is an IQ liability, and the education system in Nunavut still needs our attention.
Climate experts are predicting a warmer and drier spring than normal. Tomorrow may reach as high as 18oC, but April may see a little more snowfall yet.
