Bomb-threat at Forest Hill Loblaws

The Apathetic Bomber Target: Loblaws Superstore

Passing through St Clair West Station on my way home tonight, I found the doors to the upstairs bus platform totally barricaded. Commuters were sent out a side exit as all buses and streetcars were being held or routed around the station.

I arrive outside to find that St. Clair between Bathurst & Spadina has been blocked off by squad cars while the front of the Forest Hill Loblaws is dressed in police tape.

"What the heck goes down at a Loblaws," I mutter to a friend before we couldn't help but laugh at seeing that crafty police had used shopping carts as anchors for the police tape lines which blocked various areas of the street.

A closer look revealed lime-green t-shirted staff held in the park across the street and the canine unit sniffing around... which could only mean one thing: bomb-threat.

Now, I kid around in the headline here, as a grocery store near closing time may seem like a bad target, but it *is* located right above a subway station, so there was potential for some trouble. On that note, trains were still passing through which perhaps doesn't seem like the safest plan of action.
