Morning Brew: October 3rd, 2007

Your morning news roundup for Wednesday October 3rd, 2007:

The ROM crystal has faced some unexpected challenges: puddles caused by leaks in the structure, safety concerns due to people treating it like a playground, and difficulties hanging/incorporating exhibits.

A farmer near London, ON is perturbed after someone managed to steal 5000 of his pumpkins. Every year a few go missing, but this is a major heist.

There's a battle going on at the Scarborough/Markham border. Splendid China Square, Pacific Mall, and Market Village are duking it out over proposed expansion plans.

GO train commuters are once again in a pickle after a person was struck by a VIA rail train on the Lakeshore line near Jameson. Police are investigating, and trains are just beginning to slowly get through.

The Toronto Maple Leafs kick off the 2007/8 season tonight at home against Ottawa. My prediction: Ottawa 5, Toronto 2.
