The Halton region Catholic School Board has rejected an official book review committee's recommendations to return The Golden Compass to school library shelves, and has instead upheld their ban. They also banned the yet-to-be-releasedreviewed second and third parts that round out the trilogy. What will the Toronto board do?

Toronto's smallest house is up for sale again. The seller bought the 300 sq.ft. house this spring for $139,000 and hopes to resell for $173,000 after he put renovations and improvements into it. That would be a decent flip if it goes at or above asking price.

Parkdale is slowly getting a facelift, thanks to an initiative by the Parkdale Liberty Economic Development Corporation. The not-for-profit does super affordable fix-ups (fresh paint!) and has already renewed the look of businesses, and hopes to be up to 20 by January's end.
