TTC Strike - Survival Guide

UPDATE (April 26th, 12:01am): In a surprise reversal, the TTC strike is ON after the tentative deal wasn't ratified!

UPDATE (April 20th, 6:45pm): The strike has been averted!

Original post:

The Toronto Star has published a very comprehensive, link-heavy "TTC Strike Survival Guide" which details carpooling, parking, biking, and other alternatives to the TTC in event that an agreement at weekend contract talks isn't arrived at (I was in the process of compiling a list of online resources related to transit alternatives, but there's no sense in reinventing the wheel, right?).

Let's hope that the seemingly inevitable strike is averted, and that Monday is business as usual. In the mean time, have a look at suggested alternatives, and plan out your private transit strategies just in case.

--

Drivers, pedestrians, and cyclists: please be patient and be aware of one another. It's going to be extremely tough going if the strike happens.
