Details within the long-awaited 30-month study of the ballooning traffic and public transport problems facing the GTA are to be unveiled today by Metrolinx. Will road tolls be in the cards? How will we improve the (lack of) link from city center to the airport? Will priority be placed on light rail or new subways? How will we pay for it all? Hopefully some of these questions will be answered today, and give us a glimmer of hope for the future of Toronto transit.

Shortly after hearing about a knife attack on a Greyhound bus in northern Ontario, it's come to light that the suspect actually had his fare paid for by police, who had arrested and released him shortly before he boarded (whether it was the OPP or Wawa local police that bought the ticket is still unclear). Damage control is in full effect.

The largest marijuana grow-op in Canadian history has been uncovered near Pembroke, ON. 40,000 plants and an irrigation system have been discovered hidden between rows of corn, but 0 people have been arrested so far. It's unclear whether or not this bust will cause a significant shortage of supply, but if weed pricing is anything like gas pricing, we could see a huge spike at the... err... pumps.

A traveling exhibit that compares Iranian leader Mahmoud Ahmadinejad with Hitler, and depicts him with a burning devil on his shoulder has been deemed inflammatory by the city's art and display committee, and won't be shown at schools and on city property.

Not long into the new fee-based garbage collection program, there has already been talk of increasing fees (did someone make a calculation error or something?). After the fee hike talk created a stink, we're now being told that we'll be given a one-year grace period before fee hikes will be considered.
