Your Toronto morning news roundup for Tuedayday September 9th, 2008:
It's kind of a pain to have to do the Dufferin to Peel to Gladstone to Queen to Dufferin dance, just to stay on Dufferin, eh? After nearly 20 years of planning, this problem (that really isn't much of a problem) will soon be fixed - at a cost of just $34million. This will cover the cost of the new tunnel, and parks that will flank it.
Out in the east end, the former barricaded and skull-decorated clubhouse of the Hell's Angels, which was seized by the government, will soon be up for sale to the public. Anyone looking for an urban bungalow fortress with a shady past and only one window?

573 out of 2865. That's how many bikes police were able to return to their rightful owners following the arrest and recovery of the massive cache of stolen rides. What will happen to the remaining, unclaimed bikes and parts? Apparently the law prevents the police from donating them, but they're not prevented from selling them. How bass-ackwards is that?
We often whine about having to wait for a late bus in the rain, but that pales in comparison to... being shot and killed. Several schools in the area of a daytime shooting at a busy TTC bus stop had to be locked down while police searched for (and failed to find) the suspected shooter.
And "surfers all over North America are raving" about the Toronto Sun's online makeover, which launched this morning. I don't really care so much about the new look (which is an improvement despite still being too big, bold, and burn-your-eyes red). It's the RSS I was waiting for.
