What's Your Story? Be True To Yourself
What's Your Story? features the different characters that roam the streets of Toronto. Every Monday and Thursday, a new person shares their story, likes and dislikes about the city, a little secret and more.
Name: Jules
Age: 36
What neighbourhood are you from? High Park
What do you 'do'? Public relations
How long have you been in Toronto? 10 years
What's your story?
I came from the Ivory Coast via Sweden. Call of life brought me here for a change.
Toronto is a 'Dreams-Come-True' sort of land. Dream about it and act on it. Obviously, I'm not that out of touch but I'm colorblind here in Toronto. You can be yourself without compromising your values. Just be true to yourself.
I take pleasure in watching people pass by which is also my stress reliever.
Favorite thing(s) about Toronto:
The core of downtown Toronto - the freeway lifestyle. Also, the freedom to act however you like and be whatever you want to be. It's beautiful.
Least favorite thing(s) about Toronto:
The winters can be harsh and depressing.
You have 24 hours to spend with someone who's never been to Toronto before - what do you do?
I would take them to the Entertainment District, the museum, Toronto Island, CN Tower, as well as 'underground Toronto'. We might go to a festival and we would definitely engage in people watching.
One thing that your friends/family don't know about you:
I'm still addicted to Tom Sawyer because he's an adventurer.
