Occupy Toronto makes its case to evict Rob Ford
Occupy Toronto has oft been criticized for its lack of a cohesive message, but for one day at least the protesters were able to target their discontent at a common advesary â you know who, Mayor Rob Ford. The occupiers and numerous other supporters marched from St. James Park to City Hall in a call to evict Ford, as he would have them evicted from the park, or at least between midnight and 5:30 in the morning.
Some estimates had the overall turn-out as high as 2000 people, which easily puts yesterday's rally as the second biggest of the movement, next to the very first day. "Hell no! We won't go!" was a common refrain, as was "Ho, Ho, Rob Ford must go!"
The verdict on the temporary injunction against the City's eviction notice is expected at 9:00 a.m. tomorrow. Who thinks that's when the real fireworks will go off?
