Intersection Toronto

What are the most loved intersections in Toronto?

What are Toronto's most interesting, beautiful or otherwise awesome intersections? It's a hard to answer such a question with any objectivity — our favourites are often determined by the areas in which we've lived or spent considerable time — but it's worth toying with the idea for a bit &mdash even if only to balance out talk of the city's worst intersections.

Even if there isn't a definitive answer, just putting together a list of candidates serves as a nice little reminder of just how important these places are to our collective experience of urban areas. If streets are a city's arteries, then the most important intersections are its heart valves.

In a poll of our Twitter followers Bathurst/Bloor and Queen/Spadina emerged as big favourites, but plenty of other intersections got one or more nods. Nodes like Queen/King/Roncesvalles, Augusta/Nassau, Yonge/Dundas and Front/Jarvis are as historically significant as they are full of life today, and would make for good candidates on anyone's "top" list. No one mentioned Avenue Road and Bloor, but that's a pretty good one, too.

I could go on, of course, but the point is to crowdsource a list that can later be culled. So, what's your favourite intersection in Toronto?
