New in Toronto real estate: ZIGG Condos
ZIGG Condos are part of a trend on St. Clair West, one that should put to rest all that idiotic talk about the street being a "disaster" in the wake of the streetcar ROW being built. The development along this street over the last few years has been profound, and ZIGG joins a number of midsize developments that have been announced of late. The 11-storey condo joins a cluster around St. Clair and Avenue that also features the under-construction Imperial Plaza.
From an architectural standpoint, the main feature here is the graduated terraces, which create a pyramid-type shape at the south end of the building (which also happens to sport the best view). While the north-facing side of the development isn't altogether that noteworthy, it's hardly ugly either. This building will fit into the neighbourhood without casting too long of a shadow over the predominantly residential homes to the south and west.

THE VERDICT
This is another win for St. Clair West. The street has been primed for these types of developments since the streetcar ROW was finished, and the condo appears to feature the diversity of unit sizes that the neighbourhood demands. It wouldn't be a surprise to see a building like this house both young professionals and empty nesters all at once. The amenities are up to snuff if not outstanding, and the pricier units will feature lots of outdoor space (don't worry, if you don't have a terrace you can use the rooftop patio).
