Condo of the week: 33 Charles Street East
The penthouse at 33 Charles Street East is a monochrome two-bedroom listed for $2,460,000. Spread over two levels, the glossy black-and-white suite in the Casa Condominiums is just one of several new towers to rise in the Bloor-Yorkville area.
Constructed in 2010 and designed by Toronto-based firm architectsAlliance, the high-rise at Charles and Yonge resembles a glass curtain wall with wraparound balconies and an overhanging concrete roof. The building is one of three sister condos (Casa 2 and Casa 3) and according to the website is meant to "mirror 21st-century Italy" (you can debate that point).
With TIFF-goers still swarming the city, it might be the optimal time to bid on this a-lister residence. The penthouse is all about outdoor living space with a BBQ, multiple lounge areas, a hot tub on the private terrace, and most notably a panoramic view of the city.

GOOD FOR
A newer building. The 46-storey tower is only five years young, boasting larger suites with additional outdoor space than other new builds in Yorkville. Luxury two-level units include a wraparound terrace and balcony and access to the outdoor pool, heated year-round.
MOVE ON IF
You need more than two bedrooms for $2.5 million. Technically, it's a two-plus-den and while the bedrooms are spacious, the rooms are more ordinary than opulent. If you want extravagant, check out pricer Yorkville condos or go north and live in this $14 million palace at Bathurst and Steeles, overlooking Kivas Bagels.
