Another downtown towing blitz starts in Toronto today

You may want to be careful where you park this week, especially during rush hour. That's because Toronto Mayor John Tory launched a parking blitz today, meaning there will be more police out on the streets tagging and towing vehicles parked in traffic-blocking lanes.

Along with this parking blitz, the mayor went on a media spree this morning and spoke to numerous TV and radio outlets about this crackdown. According to CBC News, police will focus their efforts in the downtown area from Dufferin Street to the DVP and Bloor Street to Lakeshore Boulevard.

This isn't the first time the mayor's taken this approach. Since he introduced these tag and tow measures back in January, CBC News reports that police have towed around 12,000 vehicles and have handed out more than 61,000 tickets.
