The $900,000 condo in Toronto is an awkward price bracket. Not only are there less listings in this range than you might expect, but it's not always easy to differentiate between these units and ones that cost significantly less money. If, however, you're looking for a spacious unit in a building that's been around for more than decade, this is where many such condos start.

Here's what a $900,000 condo looks like in Toronto.

$899,999 on West Queen West
This is what the penthouse looks like in one of Toronto's most annoyingly named condos, the Bohemian Embassy. Location is everything, they say -- and that's on full display here, as this rather pedestrian (but admitedly spacious) unit in a building with few amenities goes for just less than a million bucks. Maintenance fees are $964.64 a month.

$875,000 near Avenue and Dupont
This low-rise two-bedroom condo isn't quite a townhouse, but it doesn't feel quite like an apartment-style unit either. The natural wood is a nice touch as is the open layout, but the maintenance fees are hefty at $1,601.92 a month.

$895,000 at Bathurst and Glencairn
You'll find a high proportion of established condos in this price range. This spacious unit (over 2,000 square feet) is located in a sturdy brick building along Bathurst that's beginning to show the signs of its age, if only in terms of design principles. As on older building, the maintenance fees here are also enormous at 1,749.41 a month.

$899,900 near Davenport and Yonge
This newish building at Yonge and Davenport returns us to reasonable monthly fees (just $533.43 a month) and comes with the option renting to a long term tenant for those looking to buy an investment property. The unit itself is pretty standard, though the long balcony overlooking Rosedale is a nice touch.

$948,000 near Fort York
The most expensive unit of this lot also features the nicest view, located as it is right above Fort York facing Lake Ontario. There's a cathedral ceiling in the living room leading up to the second floor, and plenty of space in general with a good sized master bedroom. The building is loaded with amenities (gym, pool, party room, etc.) and maintenance fees come in at $840 a month.
