Toronto ranked 4th most livable city in the world

Once again, Toronto has cracked the top five on the Economist Intelligence Unit's list of most liveable cities in the world. We ranked number four, right in front of Calgary and Adelaide, Australia, which tied for fifth place.

Melbourne, Australia, Vienna, Austria, and Vancouver rounded out the top three spots, respectively.

The Economist looked at 140 cities, measuring and ranking them on a variety of different factors that affect an individual's quality of life. Toronto scored high in many areas, but didn't do as well in areas such as infrastructure.

Yet, this high ranking doesn't come as much of a surprise, considering we frequently score well on these types of studies.

Here are the top 10 most liveable cities:

  • Melbourne, Australia
  • Vienna, Austria
  • Vancouver, Canada
  • Toronto, Canada
  • Calgary, Canada with Adelaide, Australia
  • Sydney, Australia
  • Perth, Australia
  • Auckland, New Zealand
  • Helsinki, Finland and Zurich, Switzerland
