Construction workers at Yonge and Eglinton jump rope during fun lunch break

It seems like nearly every corner of Eglinton Avenue has been plagued with construction over the past several years, given the delay-stricken Crosstown LRT and multiple condo developments in the area

However, a group of construction workers at Yonge and Eglinton recently tried to make the very best of the years of work ahead by partaking in a hilarious and well-deserved lunch break.

In a TikTok uploaded by @jamesforrester this week, a few workers on the roof of a building under construction are seen jumping rope, and doing push-ups in between tasks.

The original poster told blogTO that the video was taken "just for fun," and clarified in the comments that filming wasn't meant to discredit the group and their hard work.

@jamesforrester Ever wondered why they take so long 🤣 #torontoconstruction #eglintonconstruction #condoconstruction ♬ original sound - James Forrester 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

"Man's moving tons of steel all day and still find time to enjoy work," one person wrote.

"Good job boys! Enjoy a bit as well. I'm 25 years in high rise and if it wasn't for the joking around I would have never made it," another user chimed in.

"Let them be. Their jobs aren't easy unlike office jobs. They need a break too," a comment reads.

Most people came to the defence of the construction workers in the end, and noted that refreshing breaks like these are much-needed when working long and physically demanding hours.
