These Ontario companies were voted among best places to work in Canada for 2024

A new study has narrowed down the best companies to work for in the country across various industries, according to the people who are actually employed there.

For the 2024 Best Workplaces lists, the workplace culture experts at Great Place to Work surveyed more than 88,000 people across nine industries ranging from healthcare and government to retail and hospitality.

The firm established a "trust index" by asking staffers questions about how proud they are to work where they do, whether they want to stay with their employer for a long time, whether they feel like they make a difference in their workplace and how able they feel to be themselves while on the clock.

It is noteworthy that organizations must be Great Place to Work Certified™ to be considered for the ranking. The certification is based on both employee feedback and the programs and practices in place at a given workplace that contribute to its overall culture.

Among the dozens of Canadian firms that made the lists, many are from Ontario:

Healthcare
Retail and hospitality
Financial services and insurance
Professional services
Technology
Manufacturing
Real estate
Transportation and logistics
Government and social services
