Toronto is the top Canadian city for Americans looking to relocate

Toronto is a top destination for U.S. residents looking to relocate to a new city, according to a recent study from Kijiji that delves into rental market trends across Canadian locations.

The study analyzed where Canadians and Americans are moving within Canada, focusing on rental availability, affordability and popularity to determine a list of each nation's top ten choices of places to relocate.

Kijiji pored over Google Trends data, looking at the search volume from the past year in the largest U.S. and Canadian cities to gauge their populations' interest in relocating to different Canadian cities, and it was Toronto that came out on top.

Toronto topped the search charts for Canadian relocation destinations in most major cities south of the border.

Search trends indicated that New York City, Miami, Chicago, Philadelphia, Dallas, Atlanta, Washington D.C., Austin, Minneapolis, Tampa, Houston and Nashville, as well as several other lesser U.S. cities, all had Toronto as their top choice to potentially move to our of all Canadian destinations.

Toronto wasn't just the top choice in the country for Americans, but for other Canadians as well.
