ttc subway closure weekend

An almost 7 kilometre stretch of TTC subway will shut down this entire weekend

A lengthy stretch of the TTC subway will be out of commission for the entire weekend of Saturday, July 13 and Sunday, July 14, 2024.

The transit agency has announced a major service disruption scheduled on the Line 2 Bloor-Danforth this weekend, with plans to halt service between Kipling and Keele stations.

The closure covers approximately 6.85 kilometres, spanning eight stations at the western end of Line 2, and will effectively move the line's western terminus to Keele for the weekend.

Commuters will be packed onto shuttle buses during the disruption, which the TTC attributes to planned station improvements and track work.

The closure will affect service at the following stations:

  • Keele
  • High Park
  • Runnymede
  • Jane
  • Old Mill
  • Royal York
  • Islington
  • Kipling

Despite the lack of train service, all of these stations will remain open for passengers to purchase and reload Presto cards and connect with local surface routes.

Subway service is planned to resume by 6 a.m. on Monday, July 15, 2024.
