ttc busiest least used stations

These are the busiest and least-used TTC stations

Whether shoulder-to-shoulder on a platform or sardine can-packed train, or in a desolate station devoid of passengers, TTC ridership can vary widely from stop to stop.

The TTC released its latest ridership figures this month, covering the typical number of customer trips made on each subway line and the number of customers travelling to and from each station platform on an average weekday from September 2023 through August 2024.

As of August 12, this data is not totally complete, and the TTC has marked stations such as Union as to be determined (TBD) until all data is compiled, expected by the end of the month.

With that in mind, here are the 10 busiest stations on the TTC network.

  1. Bloor-Yonge: 121,531
  2. St. George: 108,866
  3. Union: TBD (data not compiled but averaged 91,601 in 2022)
  4. Dundas: 72,406
  5. Finch: 70,775
  6. Eglinton: 60,814
  7. Kipling: 50,484
  8. Kennedy: 42,881
  9. College: 39,137
  10. Queen: 36,714

This data marks the first release of ridership figures since the Line 3 Scarborough's closure in 2023. Line 3 included the network's two least-travelled stations in 2022, with Ellesmere seeing an average weekday ridership of 1,068 and Midland drawing just 1,293 typical weekday passengers.

With these stations axed from the list, the notoriously empty Bessarion Station on Line 4 has upgraded its title of the least-used TTC subway station to the emptiest on the entire rapid transit network.

In fact, three of the line's five stations are now among the least-used stations on the entire system.

Here are the 10 least-used stations on the TTC subway network.

  1. Bessarion: 3,180
  2. Leslie: 3,988
  3. Rosedale: 4,875
  4. Summerhill: 5,045
  5. Downsview Park: 5,618
  6. Glencairn: 5,878
  7. Old Mill: 6,109
  8. Chester: 6,197
  9. Bayview: 6,205
  10. Donlands: 6,317
