Here are all the 2025 statutory holidays in Canada

Already thinking of scheduling your time off in 2025? There are several statutory holidays in Canada to keep in mind.

As we near the end of the year, you can probably start marking your calendars to book those vacations and apply for those vacation days.

But before you start booking your time off next year, it's important to note that not all stat holidays are national — some are only observed in certain provinces or territories.

Here are all the statutory holidays in Canada in 2025:

  • Wednesday, Jan. 1 — New Year's Day: National
  • Monday, Feb. 17 — Islander Day: P.E.I.
  • Monday, Feb. 17 — Louis Riel Day: Manitoba
  • Monday, Feb. 17 — Heritage Day: Nova Scotia
  • Monday, Feb. 17 — Family Day: B.C., Alberta, Saskatchewan, Ontario, New Brunswick
  • Friday, Apr. 18 — Good Friday: National, except for Quebec
  • Monday, Apr. 21 — Easter Monday: National, except for Nova Scotia, and Newfoundland and Labrador
  • Monday, May 19 — Victoria Day: National, except for Nova Scotia and Newfoundland and Labrador
  • Saturday, June 21 — Aboriginal Day: Northwest Territories
  • Tuesday, June 24 — St. Jean Baptiste Day: Quebec
  • Tuesday, July 1 — Canada Day: National
  • Monday, Aug. 4 — Civic Holiday: Alberta, B.C., Saskatchewan, Ontario, New Brunswick, Nunavut
  • Monday, Sep. 1 — Labour Day
  • Tuesday, Sep. 30 —  Truth and Reconciliation Day: BC, NT, PEI, YT; Orange Shirt Day in MB.
  • Monday, Oct. 13 — Thanksgiving: National, except for Nova Scotia and Newfoundland and Labrador
  • Tuesday, Nov. 11 — Remembrance Day: National, except Manitoba, Ontario, Quebec and Nova Scotia
  • Thursday, Dec. 25 — Christmas Day: National
  • Friday, Dec. 26 — Boxing Day: Ontario
