Here's why an Ontario man wrapped his BMW in Christmas lights

With the holidays just six weeks away, one Ontario man decided to put his love for the festive season on full display by wrapping his entire car in Christmas lights.

Mississauga resident Michael Zare told blogTO that he simply woke up one morning feeling "extra festive," which prompted him to deck out his luxurious vehicle with twinkling lights.

The decision, Zare says, was motivated by a desire to put a "smile on people's faces" ahead of the holiday season.

Since wrapping his BMW F36, the resident has been regularly sharing photos and videos of the festive car, with one clip amassing over 20,000 views on TikTok.

Zare told blogTO that the whole process took him approximately eight hours to complete, and all the Christmas lights were purchased from Canadian Tire.

"It's definitely a head turner," he said, noting that the colourful vehicle has even caught the attention of Peel Regional Police.

Although Zare says he's been pulled over twice by police, in both instances, officers just compliment him on his one-of-a-kind car.

"They said they won't give me a ticket but definitely wanted to make sure I don't have a warrant out," he joked.
