Yummi's, the self-proclaimed best taste in town has ceased operations at the corner of Yonge and Broadway. The culprit, according to the Notice of Distress on the front door, looks like some missed rent payments.

The downfall of Yummi's is somewhat surprising given its loyal customer base in the Yonge & Eglinton neighbourhood, but also kind of not given that the corner location had a history of turnover. Yummi's did better than most though. Before they came along, businesses opened and closed here about once a year.

Yummi's will be missed for its good lunch specials and big portions. They served a tasty grilled chicken pita/salad, decent salmon kebabs, shawarma and falafel. They also had a photo of beer on their menu even though they never managed to secure their liquor license. Perhaps that led to their undoing?

No word yet on the fate of their other locations in the city but if anyone knows please post a comment below.
