Gypsy Co-op Gets a Facelift

As a Queen Streetcar frequent flyer, I couldn't help but notice the shut doors and renovation happening at the legendary, Gypsy Co-op, over the past little while.

Passing by on foot recently (near re-opening) I noticed the open windows so I stopped to take the photo above. Moments after, I was asked I'd like to come in (through the window) and take a look around the new place. That I did.

New bar (as well as candy bar), new accents, lights, bathroom, etc etc... a complete change and yet still, remarkably, as charming and bohemian as ever. Not even finished, it looked to be great move by the owners.

Now, days later, they are back in business and already have great events lined up.

This Saturday check out the new look while taking in an 'intimate' performance by DJ, Prince Paul with More or Les, Dalia and Numeric. Limited tix available in advance at Gypsy or at milk audio.
